Estudos de Psicologia is the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Campinas' periodical from Life Sciences Center Psychology Graduate Program. Founded in 1983, it is qualified as A Nacional at Qualis List, and is indexed at the national and international database, such as LILACS, CLASE, PsycINFO e Index Psi. The journal editorial options Estudos de Psicologia encourages the scientific community's national and international contributions and it is distributed into Brazil and outside, and that is why there is a publication origin division in each issue: 40% from São Paulo State, and the others 60% from other regions or countries. Also, all psychology researches are accepted, and there is no area or specialization restriction. This journal's editorial proposal is to be a vehicle for Psychology scientific and technical advance of knowledge, and also to discuss its application at the professional and research fields through original publications in the following categories: - Theoretical contribution, lecture review, clinical study, case
study, psychological tests appraise, research report. It may not
exceed 25 pages, including the timetables, illustrations, pictures,
and references; Professional responsability Every author is responsible for the contributions made, and must follow the Psychology Federal Council and the Health National Council. Review policy The articles will be accepted to the valuation process if they had not been published before by any other vehicle, and have attached the publication requirement letter signed by their authors. The originals must be directed without authors' name to two members of the Estudos de Psicologia editorial council, or to two consultants ad hoc among the area specialists. Two favorable reviews are necessary for the final publication acceptation. If there is any disapproval, the article may be sent to another consultant evaluation. The reviewer's names will be preserved. The authors may be informed about their article acceptation or refusal. The studies which receive modifying instructions must be sent to their authors with the respective notes, and must be resent in 20 days. The originals, even the not approved ones, will be part of the Estudos de Psicologia database. Some modifications can be made by this journal editorial council following the internal rules and criteria. |

Editorial style The American Psychological Association - APA (4th edition, 2001) editorial rules are followed by Estudos de Psicologia. The originals may be typed in Portuguese, English, French or Spanish, and every original must have a title and an abstract in Portuguese and English. he originals may be presented with four copies, all double spacing typed, followed by a floppy or CD copy, using Word for Windows, Times New Roman font, number 12. The text of all the contributions must be from 12 to 20 pages at most. Each page should have 40 lines with 80 characters each, numbered consecutively from the first sheet of the original (frontispiece). It's necessary to use the A4 paper, using at least 2,5 cm for the superior and inferior margins, and 3cm to the left and right ones. Every printed page corresponds to 3 original pages, including the frontispiece, timetables, illustrations, bibliographic references. Those three final version copies must be directed on paper and by e-mail. The authorization for the Portuguese and English study abstracts and the on-line study version publication should be also sent. The authors' authorization letter for publishing must follow all texts addressed to this journal where it is indicated this journal's rules agreement. It is also necessary to reinforce this study had not been published in any other vehicle, and there is no authorization and/or rights from others, in case of illustration, timetables or even parts of texts citations edited by another professional. At this document has to be mentioned any financial deal among authors and institutions. When there is more than one author, for the final publication, a letter signed by all authors must be sent in with the article. The bibliographical references, and the statements published are the author(s)'s responsibility. Manuscript submission The texts must be presented according to the sequence below: • Authors' identifications at the frontispiece, including; Portuguese abstract in a separate sheet The abstract must have at least 100 words and no more than 150. It may have from 5 to 10 lines. Exception to the books review, every text needs an abstract. The abstract may present from 3 to 5 keywords that describe the study contend, and they have to be underlined using short/ small letters, separated by semi-colon, as APA Thesaurus requirements, in order to facilitate the study index. In case of research reports, the abstract has to present a short mention about the investigated problem, the sample specifications, database methodology, results and conclusion. English abstract in a separate sheet The abstract must be adequate to the text, and attend to the same requisitions, present adequate key words. Study organization Every study should be clearly organized, with titles and subtitles that help the reading. The research reports texts must have introduction, methodology, results and discussion. The footnote is allowed only at the first page in order to notify the support received, events presentation, regards and credit attributions. Timetables, pictures, illustrations and photos must be included only in the body text if they are essential to the text comprehension, but it is not recommended these resources abusive use. When used, these resources must have titles that briefly explain their contend, be indicated on the text, and come in a separate sheet. The indications can be made by expressions, such as "insert Figure 1 here". Other authors' timetables, pictures, illustrations and photos have their reproduction allowed if they are followed by the reference font indication and the authorization copy attached to the originals. The bibliographical citations must follow the APA rules. In cases of text transcription, the citation must be between inverted commas and followed by the respective page number. References and text citations The references should be indicated from the last main author's last name. Studies from the same author or whose authority is unique must follow the chronological order. The unique authority studies come before the multiple ones when the last name is the same. Studies which the first author is the same, and the co-authors are different must follow the co-authors alphabetical order. Studies whose authors are the same must follow the chronological order. The title alphabetical order is going to be the new criteria if authors and dates are the same. The references presentation must help the review and editorial tasks - 1,5 spacing and 12 font, the paragraph must be standard without margins displacement or backward. The underlined words must be indicated by italic font, and at the collaboration body text the indications must be done using the authors' last name and the publication year presented at the references. In cases which the mentioned studies were not consulted at the font, it is necessary to present the original author not straight consulted, apud the consulted author's name, date. At the references, put only the consulted study and its date. When the citations are elderly and there are new editions, the citation must present both dates, the original and the used edition. The multiple authority article citations must be like this: • Two authors article: present both names, every time the article is mentioned; References examples Scientific journal article Borrion, R., & Chaves, A.M. Secondary citation If the original is not read, the authors should be mentioned according to his model: "Selye (1936, by Lipp, 2001) ...". at the references section, only the consulted study must be specified (In this case, Lipp, 2001). Non - published study presented in congress If the study was not published, it is necessary to specify the author's names, date in parentesis, the study name underlined, followed by the congress and the responsible institution, and its city. Personal communication (letter, e-mail, conversation) Only the text should be mentioned, with the font initial letters, the last name and the date. The references must not be specified. Attachments The attaches may be included only when they concey essential information to the text comprehension. Timetables, illustrations, photos These items must have titles and notes, and must be presented on paper and electronic file. At the printed version, the timetable can not exceed 18cm width and 24 cm length. Estudos de Psicologia journal authorial rights All editorial rights are reserved, and no publication items can be reproduced, or stocked by any system, or even be transmitted by any vehicle without the editor-in-chief written previous authorization, or reference credit, according to Brazilian authority laws. The study approval for publication involves the rights transference from the author to the journal, assuring the information dissemination. Other publishing partial reproduction It is important to avoid other authors' publishing extended citations. It is recommended to avoid timetable, picture or drawing reproduction. In cases it is necessary, they must be followed by their authors' permission. |
