The Sociedade Brasileira de Psicologia Hospitalar Journal is a biannual publication. From 2006 on it will be digitalized and distributed to SBPH’s members. Submitting an article to the Journal is conditioned to HPBS affiliation of at least one of the article’s authors. The SBPH Journal publishes original articles on hospital psychology following the categories below:

1. Research reports
2. Experiment reports
3. Clinical case reports
4. Institutional interventions
5. Critical evaluations on the psychologist’s performance in the hospital institution.

The article must be sent by registered mail, (SEDEX for remittance within Brazilian territorry), in three paper copies and floppy disk or CD ROM, to the SBPH headquarters:

All authors must inform the article sending through e-mails: cepsirj@tera.com.br, and sbph@sbph.orh.brThe e-mail message must contain subject: Article for SBPH Journal, contain: article title, post office registration date, author(s)’ names and e-mail addresses, place of research accomplishment, name of the author who belongs to the SBPH.

All the manuscripts submitted for publication must follow APA’s Publication Norms (Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association).

Remittance of 3 copies typed in paper. Two of these copies will not have identification of the authors. These copies will be addressed to the ad hoc consultants for evaluation:

Together with the copies in paper, a copy of the article in floppy disk or CD-ROM should also be sent. These copies should follow the format norms mentioned above and contain all the pages sent in paper. Pages must have 22 lines and the article should nor exceed 15 pages, all of them numbered.

The article should have, though respecting the peculiarities of the author’s work.

a. 1 st page: (in only one of the copies, and in the floppy disk or CD-ROM): All authors and collaborators (if any)s’ full names and signatures; their titles and institutional affiliations, date of article sending, place of work accomplishment; all work participants’ full names, signatures, e-mail and mail addresses.

b. Summary; Abstract (English); Introduction; Methodology; Results; Discussion; Conclusion; Bibliography references.

c. Figures (graphs, illustrations) and tables should be sent in separate files and paper sheets. They should be identified by "figure X" or "price X", for example. The point where figures and tables are to be inserted in the text should be indicated by “INSERT TABLE X HERE”.

d. Applicants of articles must annex both in the paper version and electronic media an authorization (according to HPBS attached model) signed by all the authors expressing the addressing of the article to the HPBS Journal and permition for publishing. Applicants must also state that they have participated in the work regarding the proposed article enough to take responsibility by its content.

Authors will be informed by letter about the article evaluation result, its acceptance or not, the probable date of publication if accepted as well as about possible text modifications. Copies of the above mentioned information will also be provided by e-mail.

Articles may be submitted to the SBPH Journal at any time of the year and will be published, if approved, in accordance with the availability of the Journal.

The Publishing Advisory and ad hoc consultants analyze the manuscript, suggest modifications and recommend or not its publication. The final decision whether or not to publish a manuscript will be the Publishing Advice’s prerogative.

Refused manuscripts may be submitted again after substantial rewriting according to modifications suggested by consultants and editors. After revision, the articles will be addressed to the same consultants who had evaluated the work initially:

The authors of the present work assure that:

a. All the authors mentioned above participated in the article work and take public responsibility by its content.
b. All the authors have revised the final version of the article as well as approved it and released it for publication by HPBS Journal.
c. The above mentioned article by our authorship as well as others with similar content have not been published before in any other media, or is being considered for publication in another journal.
